DEXTER MANIA AT OUR HOUSE

We love Dexter. As repulsive as his dark compulsion is, we love him so... In fact, we are obsessed and are trying to find ways of viewing the 4th season. More to come.

Anyone got any dark obsessions? Or maybe just plain old normal ones they'd like to unburden here?

I collect skull earrings. Does that count?

Oh yea, of course. Do you wear them or do you only like the collecting part?

Oh, I wear them. It's funny to see who likes them and who thinks I'm creepy for wearing them.

I am obsessed with the HBO show TrueBlood. It's dark.

Oh, and Grey Gardens. Dark in a totally different way.

steph~ They can be creepy, but also fun enjoy the spectrum of adjectives!

LL Thanks for the heads up. If you like them, then I feel sure I will too. We don't get Showtime, or any other channel for that matter, but we do have netflix and an start from season 1 which is what we did with Dex.

We love Dexter here too! It comes out on Netflix 8/18, so we're counting down the days.

I was obsessed with Post Mortem photographs for a long time. It wasn't just looking at gross dead people for me, it was a little snapshot into another time, mixed with a little tragedy with a little appreciation for modernity tossed in.

Hey Erin,

Death, darkness, mystery, sex, humor and Cuban food... what's not to love about Dex? ha! Good to meet another fan. My hub found a way to download the 3rd season from some site that people piece together their individual uploads or whatever. Not sure of the terminology, but it is quite an undertaking!

My hub is a criminal investigator so we have lots of crime scene photos floating around, but never been to an actual crime scene. All his cases are 10-15 years old. Donno if we have any PM photos, although some of the crime scene ones have the vic still in them. I can't do those, too raw, even in black and white.

I am interested in the workings of the mind though, and the more mysterious, the better. I like your description of the Post Mortem photos. Makes it sound kind of poetic.
Thanks for popping in.

I am so nuts about Dexter that I started a blog to chit chat with folks about how we all relate to him! Feel free to check out my first post as I feel my way through blog world at Identifywithdexter.blogspot.com And thanks for posting about what is compelling to you. Obsessions are such lovely creatures to have in our lives.

Thanks for stopping by Anonymous. I WILL check out the Dex site. I really should have been a psychologist as much as i love the mysteries of the mind.

Dear ID with Dexter... I cannot comment on your site. I have some problem with that type of comment format, and it's likely that many others do as well. I would LOVE to chat with you and I am now a follower of your site, BUT I will not be able to comment unless the format is different. (sorry!)

Just in case you do want to change it, I think all you do is go to your dashboard, then settings then comments. (I've found the pop up variety are more user friendly.) My guess is you have the embedded variety. Meantime, i will see if I can find out what the prob is here, because I LOVE what you are doing!

I have endless list of (discarded) obsessions. For me they never last. A day, week , month I can't get it out of my head; then as suddenly as they appeared, I'm bored...and on to the next one! Ending one now: Mafia Wars is on the outs. How about a good long novel this time?

That gets my vote... you hardly read anymore. And it would be great if you could finish the Biology of Belief. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
