Oh.. The Gods are Definitely CRAZY!

Howdy,

I'm not sure if you've seen this movie, but it IS a must see. One of the best movies ever, and I'm pretty sure, the only one of its kind. It approaches the heart of humanity and our struggles in such a profound and hilarious manner, delivering the most important of messages without being preachy. Brilliant! As usual though, it's likely that only "choir members" will be viewing...

I think a lot about how most of us live in the world today (me included). Not to be a bummer, but it really frightens me. For instance, I had a thought the other day about the earth. I was looking at all the concrete around me. Not only the road ways, but the buildings and etc... What I was thinking about in a very very new way is that these particular locations covered in cement, will likely stay that way for a long time to come. What about the earth underneath? If we are too believe (and I for one, do) that the earth's surface to her, is much like our skin is to us, what are we doing to her? What if we walked around with dried up cement on our skin? What would that do to our bodies? Not being able to expel toxins properly would most definitely cause health problems to our skin, and it would also adversely affect the functioning and health of every other part of our bodies as well, and likely kill us. (makes me think of tar and feathering...) Not to mention the heat. All that unreleased heat building and building. I never thought about it like that before. Then I thought of all the pavement everywhere, and I swear I could feel the earth crying. I cried too.

I wish that we could all go back to tribal life sometimes. Or at least slow down progress till we can understand how to live respectfully within our environment instead of despite it.

I think we've already turned that corner. It is sad but our "way of life" is so ingrained by now that we can't go back. You know?

It's been years, but I have seen that movie. I'll have to watch it again :)

I think the only thing that could send us back to that life is nuclear fall out, or something to that extreme. A few people here and there may make extreme steps, but as whole I think the industrialized world is too far gone, like Ms. Moon said.

Ms Moon,

Yea, I know it. But I still muse about it, and how it would be. Then I think of dying from something like an abscessed tooth or something, and that sort of puts things back into balance!

Steph,

Yea, I really do recommend it. AND you can watch it with your kids in the room and not have to worry about "explaining" anything or FFing through the cuss words or sex!

I think you are right about not being able to go back. I do realize it, but somehow keep hoping we can get back that innocence or at least respect for the earth and try to come up with new ways to do things and be here. Green cement? :-)
Thanks for stopping in.

Hells yeah! Green cement! That's what I'm talking about. I think that in the future we will have to approach these issues in a very different way to compensate for the lifestyle choices we make. There has to be a better compromise! A way that we can continue to live our lives without being so unkind to the earth.

Also, I haven't seen that movie since I was a kid! I'll have to check it out!

Hey LL!

Good to hear from you. Yea, I was in a bit of a funk. They are is so much tree carnage on E. Mahan where they are building condos or townhouses, or more shopping centers or some crap. It really effects me now in a way that it never used to...

Thanks for coming by and for your thoughts. Yea, our lifestyles are so not going away, it's just that we've based them on crumbling foundation. But hey, at least we recycle! Who ever thought we'd see that? Blah bla...Have a groovy week.

I often think about this. It usually sends me off into spirals about how the more we separate ourselves from the earth, the more we are separating ourselves from our very own natures, thereby making it easier for us to feel separate from the earth. I'm glad you think these thoughts too. You are such a thought-full woman, Petit Fleur!

Miss Maybella Luna!

I am so pleased that you dropped in on me here. It was a grand celebration, your birthday. I was so happy we were included.

Yes, you are absolutely right about the spiral of rationalization and desensitization we are all becoming a part of. It's a true conundrum. sigh. BUT... there is a lot of good happening too, so I try to let myself mourn for the way the process is happening, but hopeful that the tables will begin to tip the other direction.
Thanks again for visiting.
