Sorry ya'll, but it's too prevalent.
People walking around like Zombies. In the mall, on the street, at the park. Kids, mommies, daddies and grands. Phoning and texting and NOT being in the moment.... NOT being here now. NOT looking where the fuck they are walking or driving... NOT caring. Just fixed on their fix... fixating, fixated and transfixed.
I wonder when the war on phone zombies will be waged, and what will be the damage?

This irritates me too. I see so many moms yapping on the phone and their children just running amok. Once the kid really messes up the mom pulls the phone away from her ear and screams at the kid and tells him how horrible he is behaving and yanks him away from whatever he was tearing up and then starts yapping on the phone to whoever she's yapping to and complains about how her child has no control........
Yeah, I'm sure that he'd be better behaved if you talked to YOUR child half as much as you talked to your phone!
Hey Rebecca,
Don't even get me started on that one! It's gotten so that every time I see anyone staring at their hands or looking down I want to bitch slap em!
SIGH!
I mean, I'm not against it as a concept, or even as a tool, it's just so over the top abused and people do NOT even REALIZE they are engaging in risky behavior OR that they are addicted and at the very least rude!
BAH HUMBUG!!
This post brings to mind a recent conversation I had when my fam was here about how kids can't relate socially to one another anymore. Kind of like we could put so many of them on the spectrum for Autism-Asberger's-Social Withdrawal. Good thing H's Mom is a present focused Mommy in the now! See ya soon, Love Jen
Yea, there are so many levels of spookiness, but the spookiest is that so many are just zoned out and totally addicted and they obviously don't have a clue. And it's so seemingly benign... it's not like your kid smoking up or snorting coke, but the addictive thinking/personality type is being set up for other addictions and is beginning very very young
Too much.
I'm sometimes walking down the street when I think 'Oh look! A poor mentally disturbed person talking to themselves'. This is often accompanied by extravagant gestures. Then I realise they are talking to a mic type mobile connection.
Ah Rabbit.... You were right, first time.... it IS poor mentally deesturb a person! Always trust the first, instinct... Always correct.
(Said in with "Kung Fu" accent or maybe Yoda..?)
(Can you hear the low gong vibrating in the background?) :-)
ha..i m not a phone zombie!!
i rarely use my cellphone..or have it even with me..and when i use it only for phoning..not texting, internet or playing or whatever...i also rarely write a text..because..bahahhaahahah ugly..
just checked..this year i wrote a total of 4 texts so far...which is what other text within 30 minutes..
I REFUSE to learn how to text. And I rarely use my cell phone while driving. It drives me even crazier when I'm trying to get my errands done and some self absorbed nimrod is taking up the entire aisle while they are yakking on the phone.
It just became a primary offense in Washington to text or talk while driving. Yet on my daily commute, I see no evidence of anyone changing their behaviors, despite the $124 ticket that they face if caught.
Danielle,
You're so funny honey! How could anyone (you) as dazzling and full of spirit be a zombie... I think I should have added a caveat to this post which said, I am not judging or referring to anyone in particular, or that if you do engage in this annoying behavior that I'm condemning you!
I'm just bitching about what I see around me... If I keep it inside it will turn to poison. I'm not saying don't ever talk on a cell or text, what I am saying is that so many people are trying to do EVERY-thing they do while attached to their freaking phones! They are like Cyborgs! See, here I go again... sorry.
Anyway, I was so not referring to you or any of my other visitors here at PFA.
Peace bro,
pf
Jojo,
I think they are doing the same here in FL... I don't think it's going to help. The prob is too wide spread and it's sort of like prohibition... Everyone is too used to it now, they will just try not to get caught.
Have a great vaca!
peace,
pf
I'm with you. I'd like to KILL whoever invented cell phones. I really would. My most hated invention by far. I don't have one. Never will.
